Czech electro-acoustic duo Dva consisting of a married couple Barbora Kratochvílová and Jan Kratochvíl is a new discovery on experimental music scene. Dva combine human voices with acoustic instruments in loops and sing in artificial languages. Their debut album Fonók was recorded in summer 2008 in a small North Bohemian village Padouchov where no sophisticated recording equipment existed. This and the cooperation with a well-known Berlin musician and producer Jayrope caused that the sound of the album is quiet specific and original. However, not only the sound quality is noteworthy. Fonók also offers some nice compositions which makes it a complex album worth listening to. // Jan Kyncl
