On the last day of class I asked my students what they had learned in my beginning level video production course.
With almost half of them just Freshmen, I was surprised by their responses – fortune cookie size pearls of wisdom!
I had told them jokingly at various times that I had fantasized about a “Life, Film and Media Studies” department but had had to settle for just “Film and Media Studies.”
… I used to describe myself to my students as “the irritant, that grain of sand that will bother you enough so that in time you will produce a pearl.”
I was glad they had learned much more than just how to edit and some keyboard shortcuts.
