Blackfoot (or Siksikáwa) from Montana, Little Bird Woman (a.k.a. Elouise Pepion Cobell) was the lead plaintiff in a case representing 500,000 Indian People, suing the United States government for mismanaging Native American land and money. After 14 years of litigation, it became the largest class-action settlement against the government in history, the federal government settled for more than $3.4 billion dollars.
