Home » Once in One’s Life: Why Not DJ 2 Hours of Brazilian Music?

I was subbing for Andrea on Radio Rio: two hours of Brazilian music. It did happen with many of the problems when one works a board for the first time (computer did not play at first, etc…). The highlights for me were: Nara Leão, Insensatez, Carmen Miranda’s I Yi Yi Yi YI, Antonio Pinto & Ed Cortez’s Morte Zé Pequeno from the City of God soundtrack, Tom Zé’s Um “oh” e eum “ah,“Philip Glass and Uakti Paru River from aguas da amazonia, Airto Moreira’s 8 minute Redland,  the Ocora Label, Brésil, the Arara song evoking animal spirits, Aremule, and Arto Lindsay’s Personagem from the album Salt.
Did not get to play tracks from Suba Tributo (Cibelle Sereia, amor d’água) and many others like Lindsay’s De Lama Lâmina & Combustivel.
